the color out of space

2014, with Adam Fung

The Color Out of Space was a collaborative project with Adam Fung that was installed at the Brookhaven College Gallery in Dallas, Texas in 2014.

Inspired by the H.P. Lovecraft short story of the same name, we created a fictional landscape on the gallery floor from powdered pigments and flour. As if a series of meteorites had crashed, canvas scraps and paper materials served as the terra firma. Bright and unnatural colors make up the constructed landscape while a slow motion video and other sculptural gestures are positioned high above the vistor’s head.
